Sign up For Joshua Sprague Emails

Joshua Sprague created the 30-Day Book Writing Challenge that shows up on Instagram sometimes. I did and also subscribe to his email list. This was from Joshua Sprague’s email this week, and I found it thought-provoking, since I’ve started working on this site just for my own joy. It can feel selfish, but doing what you enjoy is really honoring those whispers (or screams!) from Spirit.

Here’s a really good question to ask yourself…
“What makes you feel good about yourself AFTER you do it?”
Lots of things can make you feel good WHILE you’re doing them.
But not all of those things create joy, fulfillment, or pride in yourself.
A lot of short term things make you feel good in the moment, but as soon as you stop, you don’t feel great.
Take social media as an example.
For most people, it feels good while you’re using it.
You’re getting dopamine rewards.
But I don’t think most people think, “I’m so proud of myself and feel more fulfilled,” after they scroll through Instagram.
On the other hand, here are some things that make me feel good AFTER I do them - especially if I have resistance to doing them beforehand.
What are the things that make you feel good AFTER you do them?
Make a list.

Follow your higher calling,
Joshua
