March 2023 Treasure Hunt
Silk and Sonder has posted its March socials on Eventbrite.
Eventbrite has a slew of workshops and classes and gatherings. A lot are free!
I signed up for the Phoenix Writers’ Network’s Evening with Windy Lynn Harris on March 23rd about flash writing. I think it will be fun to try, if nothing else. (Ignore their lack of apostrophe in Writers. I suppose that’s debatable, and yet…lol.)
Lauren Sapala is doing her Silent Writing Sessions every month this year, I believe. In her book Firefly Magic, Lauren Sapala says, “I want to share my stories with the whole world. At the same time, I don’t want anyone to look at me.” This spoke directly to me as an INFJ personality. I know that’s why Silent Writing works so well for me, as opposed to the very popular prompt, share, critique, talk, talk, talk groups.
I am new to and enjoying a couple of extremely helpful YouTube channels: 4K Relaxation, David Alex and Big Cat Creative (about Squarespace and SEO things). I’m enjoying Rabbi John Carrier’s channel (he hasn’t posted recently) about Jewish things (in my resolution this year to learn religion-y things.)
Books out this month: Jeannette Walls’ Hang the Moon and Curtis Sittenfeld’s Romantic Comedy.
I actually signed up for this in February, but it’s now live on Reedsy’s YouTube Channel. It was a lot of fun for anyone who just loves the puzzle pieces of writing. It was specific to Writing Dialogue. Quick, fun, practical. Reedsy.
“It is a very old saying that you never can tell what you can do until you try. The more I see of life the more I am convinced of the wisdom of that observation.” ~Calvin Coolidge
“The creator made us creative. Our creativity is our gift from God. Our use of it is our gift to God.” ~Julia Cameron, in the Artist’s Way
My Christmas present feeling this month was connecting with new and “old” people (lol) via the new monthly newsletter and coworking sessions and a March 2nd snow that lasted almost an hour! LOL!
